Prayer Warriors

Before the fast began, all of us should have prepared a list of the people in our lives that we are praying for during the fast. The fast should not just be about our needs. My prayer is that you become a prayer warrior for someone whose needs, be they financial, health, relational, etc. are greater than yours.
Prayer warriors are people who intercede on behalf of others before God.
To intercede means to come between, so prayer warriors are, in effect,
coming between God and the trouble or need in another person's life.
Prayer warriors are like defense attorneys, appealing to the Higher Court on
behalf of their defendants. We're all guilty before God, but God is merciful.
Prayer warriors have a relationship with God and can plead the case of
those in need.
Jehoshaphat, King of Judah received word that a vast army was coming against Judah from Edom. Alarmed, the King inquired of the Lord and proclaimed a fast for all of Judah. Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and prayed to God.
In 2 Chronicles 20:6-12, we read how the king prayed fervently to the Lord: "O LORD, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. O our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?" (verses 6-8). Jehoshaphat acknowledged God's power and his own lack of power in this situation to defeat the enemy. He put all his faith and trust in the Lord.
God felt his pain and heard his cry for help. In 2nd Chronicles 20:15-18 God said to the King and all who lived in Judah and Jerusalem, “Do not be afraid or discouraged, because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s…Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you." God gave them the victory. Verse 24 says when the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground.
Won’t He do it! God has power to do all things. There is nothing too great for our God, creator of the Heavens and the Earth, to do. We may not understand how He chooses to give us the victory, but if our faith is great enough, we can be assured that He will do what is asked.
Fasting without prayer is futile. Prayer without interceding on someone else’s behalf is selfish and loveless. God is love and we are commanded to love one another. How can we love one another, if we don’t pray for one another? All of us have needs. Fast and Pray and watch God move!
