Prayer
This Month's
Scripture
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Prayer is simply our relational communication with God. It is a solemn request for help or expression of
thanks addressed to God, and an intimate, honest conversation with our Lord. We talk then we listen. It is sharing our heart with God and listening for His counsel.
To know God is to love God. We can’t know God if we don’t study His word and offer prayers of thanksgiving. When we know God, prayer becomes easier, and the Holy spirit will help us with our prayers. 1st Thessalonians 5:17-18 says to pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. This verse does not mean that we should literally be in perpetual or endless prayer, but that nothing should interrupt our daily time of prayer and our need for prayer when circumstances warrant prayer. It means we should pray about everything and recognize God in all things and be thankful for all circumstances, even our trials, for He is the creator of everything. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”. When we recognize God as creator and owner of it all, prayer becomes easier, praise becomes easier, and we are able to rejoice and live full lives (abundant and peaceful lives) as it is God’s will for us.

Fasting helps us with prayer, because when we are weak, He is strong (2nd Corinthians 12:10). Periods of fasting weaken our flesh but strengthen our spirit and helps us with our prayer life and allows us to resolve many of the issues and circumstances we deal with daily. The combination of fasting and prayer is a powerful expression of our faith and trust in God.

Prayers for 2023
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for us. We pray Lord that you show us favor for the remainder of 2022 and all of 2023 like never before.
We pray Lord that 2023 will not be like any other year. We pray it is a year of promises fulfilled. A year where the unseen comes into focus. A year of radiant light that shines brightly in our lives. A year where our ministries receive fresh anointing and power to transform lives. A year where our faith exceeds that of which we speak. A year where you show us just how AWESOME you are. Lord, we know that you are omnipresent and omniscient. This speaks to your Bigness, your greatness, your sovereign and supreme power. You, Lord, are our everything!!! You are our portion. We are nothing without you. We are mere dust walking around in bodies, with mouths that don’t shout praises to your name, eyes that don’t read your word or see the beauty of creation, feet that don’t walk in the light, stomachs that hunger for foods that sap our energy and allow Satan to take root in our hearts and minds, and hands that withhold tithes and offerings. Lord, deliver us from this spiritual deadness. Revive us! Help us to seek you in all earnestness and minimize or eliminate those things that distract us from the fullness of your grace.

We pray for V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. (Victory) in all aspects of our life.
V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. in our relationships
V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. in our finances
V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. in our health

V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. in our ministries
We pray that the peace that surpasses all understanding be in our homes and on our jobs, and in our churches. Give us harmony Lord with each breadth and step that we take. Let those who come in contact with us, see the life of Christ in us. Give us real peace and joy that can only be found in Christ Jesus.
Allow us to take many of the blessings you have provided us and redistribute them to those who are in need and/or may be spiritually dead. Help us to understand how giving rewards us and shows our true faith in you. Let us not have open hands when it comes to receiving, and closed hands when it comes to giving.
Awaken this country Lord and give us leaders that have a heart like your own. We pray Father for a change in our culture where morals matter, where Godly virtues are held in high esteem, and we all love one another. We pray for our leaders Lord – all federal, state, and local government officials and politicians, our teachers who teach our children, all pastors and ministers who tirelessly work to bring forth the word of God and we pray for those leaders who lead the companies we work for. We pray for their well-being Lord so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness as described in 1st Timothy Chapter 2. Protect this country Lord and keep our sons and daughters in the armed forces safe and secure.

And finally, Lord, give us the desire Lord to continue to seek your face daily. We pray Lord that on this upcoming 2023 fast that we will be able to see our lives through your lens and experience a taste of the power of the Holy Spirit. The power of the LORD Elohim and Yahweh, our God and friend. The power that
comes from knowing you and trusting you in all that we do. Help us to keep our focus on you, not on the things of this world. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD God Almighty who is and who was and who is to come. LORD You are worthy! So worthy!
In the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen.
