Day 16 - Our Helper
I remember when I was young my parents would give me different chores to do. Whenever they would give me these chores, they would always assign my little brother to help me. The whole purpose was to help me complete the task they asked me to do. But with my brother being much younger, his help was intermittent and inconsistent with the work that had to be done.

In John 14 Jesus was sitting and explaining to the disciples that he was leaving and going back to the Father. With him being God, he knew that his disciples were concerned about him leaving and not taking them with him. He told them in John 14:16 that he was going pray to the Father for the Father to send them back a comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, to be with them forever. Comforter means just like it sounds to comfort and help us amid our walk here on earth. The greatest thing about the comforter is that He will always be consistent in his help for us. As we grow in our faith and knowledge of God, we realize the comforter will always be there for us and will help us in our walk with the Father!
Father, help us lean more on the Holy Spirit’s help to provide what we need to carry, for the tasks you have assigned us to do. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
