Day 14 - Out of Order
The room feels lighter. I don’t feel like I am in a cave or dark hole. I spend more time in the room and feel God’s presence more. I pray more. I meditate more. I give thanks to God for the things He has done more often. What did I do? I got rid of my old desk, which was my son’s desk from high school and bought a new one that gives me more room to spread out in my home office. I heard the Holy Spirit speaking to me for some time saying, “get organized, get organized, this is a mess.”

When we are cluttered and disorganized in our personal or work lives, we are probably similarly as disorganized and cluttered in our spiritual life. This disorganization can cause us to be ineffective for God. We can’t think or hear God clearly because we’re thinking how we need to get a handle on things and feel like we’re overwhelmed. We also can’t pray like we need to because we’re likely making little time for prayer because of our disorganization.
God values order and peace. It is part of His character and being. 1st Corinthians 14:40 says let all things be done decently and in order (KJV). Everything about the universe shows God’s order. Both the moon and the earth rotate around the sun. The oceans when they are calm remain offshore and within their shoreline. Morning comes each day as the sun rises and evening comes as the sun sets. We are given 24 hours each and every day without fail. God is immutable; He doesn’t change. His character and emotions are constant and unmoving. He is always faithful, and we can count on Him without fail.
For me to be at my best, I need to feel a sense of order about all aspects of my life which includes my relationship with God and the church, my wife, my son, other family members, friends, financial well-being, health, home, etc. There is a lot to manage and if any one of the many things that I manage becomes unbalanced or out of order, it is easy to feel out of synch or stressed.
2nd Thessalonians 3:16 says “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.” Order can bring about peace in my life. Without order there is no peace. Without God, there is no order.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord for bringing order to my life. Thank you that the Holy Spirit who lives in me prompted me to become more orderly. I pray, Lord, that you will continue to guide me on this journey so that all aspects of my spiritual life are orderly (giving, praying, and fasting). As I become more orderly, I pray that your peace will transcend my life and bring you glory. In the name of Jesus, I pray, amen!
This really did hit home for me.I thank you for this I really needed to read this .God bless
