Day 12 - Let the Holy Spirit Commune for You

Writer's picture: Milron DanielsMilron Daniels

Romans 8-26

“Likewise, the Spirt also (the Holy Spirit who is now indwelling us) helpeth our infirmities (our weaknesses) for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

I think there will come times in our lives when we just don’t know how to pray.  We have an idea of what we want, but we can’t put it into words. When you get to that situation, just be quiet and let the Holy Spirit commune for you.  It is not necessarily a tongues experience.  But we get to this place where the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf. Sit in silence for about 10-15 minutes.

The Holy Spirit can also help us deny what the flesh wants. However, we must ask the Holy Spirit to help us. You will never defeat fleshy “anything” by yourself. If you want to know why it is so hard to control your flesh, if you want to know why it is so hard to develop a lifestyle of praying consistently, or why it is so hard to develop a lifestyle of fasting; more than likely, it is because you are trying to control your desires using your strength and will. Ask and depend on the Holy Spirit to help you during the Daniel Fast!

Digestion starts with the tongue. The moment food enters the mouth the brain activates this system. The brain is a very complex plasticity of circuits that travel familiar pathways one develops through conditioning based on experiences and choices. If one has created pathways of eating for emotional comfort based on the sense of taste rather than nutrition for energy and health the body will assume the power one has given it and demand the sugary, salty, processed foods it has mindlessly consumed in the past.  Amen!

This is where we will deny the body and allow the spirit of God to have a rightful place as the head and not the tail in our lives. We consciously assume power and rightfully exercise our will to do God’s work not mindlessly controlled by our senses that are only concerned with carnal things, what feels good, tastes good, looks good, etc., essentially animalistic behavior. Wonderful things will unfold when God has full expression in our lives. We will experience magic in our homes, on our job, in our company, in our church, and our communities.

Prayer:

God, please take away everything I think I know about you and everything I think I know about myself. Direct my attention to what you would have me be. Open my heart fully to your will and your way with a fresh mind. Give me victory over my difficulties that it may bear witness to those I may help know your power, your love, and your way. Please release me from the bondage of my belly so that it will not lord over me. I resolve that my life is no longer my business but yours. I now rest in your loving care. Amen!
