Day 10 - Oh My Angel

                                                                                                                                                                                   Oh My Angel…

My Heavenly Father once told me He would steer you to me

On the street corner, out of nowhere, in my presence you would be

You whispered a word in passing so clearly on that day

On billboards, an email, a soothing word you would say

How could this be happening to me I would ask

And all the time you’d tell me my journey was my task

Own it you would say and watch the Father here at work

As I watched the miracles before me begin to heal all my hurts

Oh, My Angel, Oh, My Friend! My Sweet Angel, My Sweet Friend!

The tapping on my window awakened my quiet sleep

To allow me the moment with my Father I would speak

Yes, Father, I hear you, So loudly and so clear

Such sweet assurance has come to take away this great fear

In awe of such encounters so adorning I would share

With my Father I thanked Him for keeping me in your care

Oh, My Angel, Oh My Friend! My Sweet Angel, My Sweet Friend!

To whom He gave you me

For comfort, for guidance again delivered I would be…

Summation:

In the notoriously acclaimed poem, “Footprints in The Sand”, we are reminded of how God has carried us through some of the most difficult and challenging times in our lives.  He shows up in the parking lot at the grocery store, in the classrooms, on the job, in our homes, on the basketball courts, etc.

Even though we cannot visibly see God, he is most certainly omnipresent. Luke 4:10-11 (ESV) says, “For it is written, “He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you, and on their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.”  This is confirmation that we are never alone.  God is always working in the background.

In addition to the angelic forces that abound, the Holy Spirit continues to move and intercede on our behalf.  Romans 5:3-5 (ESV) says, “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
